Dataverse repository software

Dataverse open source repository software is used by over 75 organizations worldwide, including Harvard University. It was developed and is maintained by the Institute of Quantitative Social Science.

I oversaw local and international community-led research and design improvements to usability, accessibility, consistency of metadata and integration of new features. Research included investigating how researchers and repository curators might access and use privacy-preserving features through the NSF-funded Privacy Tools initiative.

Activities:

  • Research: Lead/oversee research with users (multiple rounds and constituents)

  • UX: Strategize methods for improving user experience in roadmap and sprint planning

  • UX: Lead/oversee user flow definition

  • UX: Lead content planning across touchpoints for the Harvard Dataverse installation

  • UI: Lead interface changes, style guide definition
